Became the founding drummer and one of the two driving members of Capitol Record’s iconic Canadian Recording Artists ‘GLASS TIGER’.
Glass Tiger (as “TOKYO”) plays live with Boy George and Culture Club at Maple Leaf Gardens, and at a pivotal moment are discovered by Capitol Records. Capitol/EMI soon after signs the band to a full record deal.

Recording : On the first GLASS TIGER record done at Morin Heights Studios in Quebec, Hanson worked alongside renowned Producer/Writer Jim Valance (Bryan Adams, Aerosmith).
"Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone", "Someday" etc. released on Glass Tiger’s Debut THIN RED LINE Album.

Releases debut Solo Project ‘Earthboy’ as artist.

1994-1996
Opened Studio “Tornado Alley” – Studied and Trained as a producer / programmer in Logic and Pro Tools.
Produced over 35 full CDs for various artists, continued to write & build songwriting catalogue.
Played with Canadian Band “Fludd” for short period on drums.
Wrote, Produced, Arranged, played guitars, drums, backing vocals with artist ‘Farmer’s Daughters’ on new country singer “DONNIE WALLACE”s debut CD which was released and received airplay across Canada. Hit single debut “Here Comes Love”.
Kim Mitchell quotes Hanson to be “one of Canada’s most prolific songwriters” on “New Frontiers” Special on CMT.

Re-joins longtime GLASS TIGER writing partner Alan Frew. Their first musical creation of many becomes an entry for the upcoming theme to the PAN AM Games, which was presented live by Michael and Alan to the Games' Toronto Consortium in summer 2010.
Co-wrote and Produced "Free To Be (Canada's Song)" for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Performed the song live at the ACC in Toronto for Hockey Night In Canada with Alan Frew along with other venues such as Leafs TV (live) for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Credited with writing the key “Go Go Go!, Go Leafs Go!” music hook
Co-Wrote / Produced 3-song Paulina Gretsky EP (daughter of Wayne Gretsky), who parlayed the results into a Record Deal with Universal Music Canada.
Wrote and performed the first official campaign song for M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drinking and Driving) entitled “Shattered Dreams”.
Co-wrote debut hit single “What About The Time” by Winnipeg band TAKE ME TO THE PILOT (came in on the download charts at number 3 in early 2000).

“If You Think I’m A Joke” Feature Documentary / Anti-Bullying Campaign (#nojoke)
Armed with only a single cameraman and a song called “Think I’m A Joke” offered up by Michael Hanson, unknown artist Andrew Cole of Liverpool, England knocks on the doors of major celebrities all over the world, and successfully films a charity awareness drive against “bullying”, which is now completed as a Hollywood Feature Documentary, directed by Andrew Lipsig (March of the Penguins) and narrated by Morgan Freeman. Top celebrity performers from all over the world are filmed commenting on bullying and are subsequently recorded (and filmed) performing on Hanson’s song “Do You Think I’m A Joke” each in various studios over a 2 year period. Celebrities include Charlie Sheen, Ron Sexsmith, Lights, Randy Bachman, Julian Lennon, Cedric The Entertainer, Sharon Osbourne, Slash, and many more. Actor Jeff Goldblum is filmed playing the piano (piano / music written by Hanson). Harrison Ford among others have given the project a riveting testimonial, stating it “it has a terrific chance to win an Oscar”.

“Michael Hanson Songwriting Challenge”
A unique ground-breaking opportunity created by Michael Hanson and Hanson’s friend Glen Daniel, in which he visits schools across Canada to speak on songwriting and the music business. Songwriter/performers in the school then apply to take part in an interactive seminar delivered by Hanson in “Hit Songwriting 101” in which they try to create an original piece of music.

Hanson debuts a multifaceted entertainment company / Music Production House for Original Scores & Soundtrack Music, as well as Indie Music Label Radar Love Records. As well as creating and delivering original songs and soundtracks for television and feature film, it includes a Film Division responsible for the creation of original Feature Films, Documentaries, Reality Series, Netflix Series etc. as well as TV and radio Commercials.

Michael Hanson is a 5-Time JUNO AWARD winner, GRAMMY Nominated founder, drummer, songwriter, and original member of iconic Capitol EMI Records band GLASS TIGER from 1985 to 1990.
Most recently a recipient of a National Humanitarian Award from the CCAA for one of his compositions (which made International news), Michael Hanson has garnered music awards from all corners of the globe, from Gold and Multi-Platinum Music Sales to advertising awards for his original music.
Now the peak of his career, he is now composing and Producing outstanding new original soundtrack music for film & television series daily in his Mississauga Ontario Digital Studios, as well as groundbreaking Logo Sound Bites for Corporate Logos and website development music.
Additionally, Michael is writing and recording for new and established artists for which he has most recently created a new multifaceted Canadian Indie Entertainment Company “Radar Love Records” - which also includes a Full Scale Music Production facility, Film Music Division and Film Development.
Michael Hanson is best known in the business as one of the fastest ‘songwriting hook’ talents available, with a pop sensibility for writing hit songs and Original Soundtrack music that is among the very elite in the world.
