Gord Deppe

With a string of smash hits - Nova Heart, Tell No Lies, Old Emotions, Romantic Traffic - the Spoons redefined the musical landscape in the '80s and captured the hearts of fans everywhere.

Their hugely successful album Arias & Symphonies was named one of the 20 Most Influential Albums of The '80s by The Chart Magazine. Nova Heart continues to be included in many top-Canadian-songs-of-all-time radio charts, as well as Bob Mersereau's book The Top 100 Canadian Singles.

The young band also appeared just as a brand new video-driven phenomenon was about to hit TV screens nationwide. The video for their hit Nova Heart would be aired on the very first broadcast of MuchMusic. Romantic Traffic, shot in the subways of Toronto, remains as one of the most iconic Canadian music videos of all time.

The Spoons have stayed active to this day, continuing to record new music and perform across the country. Gord Deppe, the band's lead singer and songwriter, recently published the autobiography SpoonFed, a #1 Best Seller on Amazon. The book will be available for sale at the Music Expo!

He is the guitar player with acclaimed A Flock Of Seagulls, known for their hit “I Ran”, who  tour internationally to this day.

The Spoons are released a brand new album in March of 2019 called “New Day New World".
